Before the Tension Rises, Protect Yourself!

Date: September 26 2018 Time: 3:15 p.m. EST Duration: 1 hour

Presented by

Pascal Poisson, Eng., Ph.D. Electrical and Safety Engineer

For nearly 20 years, Pascal Poisson has participated in various projects as an engineer, researcher, trainer and consultant in the field of industrial safety. In terms of electrical safety, he implemented programs, conducted incident energy studies (flash arc) and trained nearly 10,000 workers. His involvement led him to work in different fields. In addition, his participation writing articles on the website and his contribution to the leaflet “Travailler hors tension” from The Corporation of Master Electricians of Québec, which was printed in over 60,000 copies, allow him to propose new ideas and inform the stakeholders in the field of the latest updates. He published scientific articles and the book “DANGER: Travailler hors tension”, which has become a reference in the field and has sold more than 5,000 copies. Did you know that a quarter of electrical accidents happen in factories or plants?

With electricity, there are never "small dangers". According to specialists, there are no situations where electricity becomes less risky for workers: as soon as there is tension, there is danger. Although the best way to protect yourself against the risk of electric injuries is to work with the electricity off, which is not always possible. On the other hand, awareness and education on the subject are part of the solution and help promote a preventive approach.

Register for this webinar and learn about:

  • The main causes of electrical accidents
